POEMS FROM YOUTH
I
Where but in the heart of innocence-
Only once would the I convert into a we
When but in the soul of timelessness
Then the one is universalised into a thee.

To have given- to have received.
To have loved - to have been loved.
This the sum total!
To face the eternal asking of "me"
To have answered "we"
The infinite odyssey of soul seeking soul.

Inward into life once only
Forward faring freedom -----
Taking, giving, looking, seeking.
Outward out of life
Fading, fearing, fleeing, still
Ever forward faring.
